Queen Street West Road Closure
November 26 to 28 and December 3 to 5
Between November 26 to 28 and December 3 to 5, 2011, two new bridge spans will be installed on the east side of the Queen Street West bridge (at Queen and Dufferin Streets) to accommodate additional tracks. The work involves erecting the new spans and securing them in place.
November 26 to 28
- Full road closure of Queen Street West between Gladstone Avenue and Dufferin Street is required from Saturday at 5 a.m. to Monday at 5 a.m.
- Work to begin at 6 a.m. with heavier equipment work beginning at 8 a.m. November 28 to December 3
- Lane restrictions in effect
December 3 to 5
- Full road closure of Queen Street West between Gladstone Avenue and Dufferin Street is required from Saturday at 5 a.m. to Monday at 5 a.m.
- Work to begin at 6 a.m. with heavier equipment work beginning at 8 a.m. December 5 to 9
- Lane restrictions in effect How this will affect you
- There will be construction noise from trucks, cranes, and other equipment; little to no vibration impact is anticipated Vehicular traffic will be redirected along Dufferin Street to Peel Avenue to Gladstone Avenue. Please follow temporary detour signage
- Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times – on one side of the street or the other – except during the span installations on November 26 and December 3
- During this time, all sidewalks will be closed at the bridge for a brief period of time
- There will be two paid duty officers, one at Dufferin Street and one at Gladstone Avenue, to help direct traffic TTC buses will provide service in place of the 501 Queen streetcar

- This work will include standard site clean up and should have minimal impact on traffic or the community
- The TTC will work to reinstall the streetcar catenary wire
