Andrew Jones

Andrew Jones is a Toronto-based designer who specializes in developing furniture and lighting products for manufacturers, architecture, and interiors. His clients are located in Canada , the United States and Great Britain. With a degree in architecture from The University of Toronto, Jones continued his education at the Royal College of Art, London where he received an MA in furniture design in 1997. He has won numerous awards for his designs, including 3 prestigious I.D. Magazine Annual Design Review awards. His work has been exhibited internationally in venues such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Venice Biennale. It is included in the permanent collection of the Royal Ontario Museum and the Design Exchange, Toronto. Jones begins his work by imagining new ways to experience design. He looks at fundamental issues such as, how design can make life easier, entertain the eye, enliven the spirit and work with the body. His work, while displaying an economy of expression and form, never compromises comfort, practicality and joy. His products are known for bringing the unexpected and the delightful to the public realm. Jones teaches furniture design at the architecture schools of the University of Toronto and the University of Pennsylvania.
