Bevan Ramsay‘s Jersey Girls are the perfect storm of kitsch, child’s play and sculptural feat. With talk of the large scale identity crisis experienced by many contemporary institutions (art museums doing ethnographic based exhibitions and vice versa), Ramsay’s mix of the ever popular museum dinosaur with fine art sensibilities provides an interesting platform from which to explore this issue. Ramsay is a native of Montreal and currently resides in both Bangalore and New Delhi. He is a graduate of the MFA program at Concordia.
