“Puzzle Chair” is a simple yet intriguing chair that makes the most of its design. Consisting of only eight pieces; it is a testament to the phrase “less is more”. A completely structural chair, with no nails, screws, fasteners or glue, just cut pieces that slot together to create a strong structure using only natural forces. The intention was to create patterns that can not only be appreciated as stand-alone pieces but also challenge the viewer to try and mentally assemble them into a greater whole. Samira Hesami is a final year Bachelor of Interior Design student at Humber College. Designed as part of the Chair Prototypes: Digital Fabrication at Humber College ITAL project.
Come Up To My Room (CUTMR) is the Gladstone Hotel’s annual alternative design event. CUTMR invites artists and designers to show us what goes on inside their heads.
