Influenced by pop art, contemporary culture and politics, Toronto artist Joanne Tod is currently showing Invited Invasion (on until Nov. 11) at the Gardiner Ceramic Museum. Working with ceramics for the first time in her career, Invited Invasions presents a collection of objects in response to the Gardiner Museum’s historical collections including painted plates and paintings.
“Tod is without a doubt Canada’s premier realist painter. Over her 30-plus-year career, she has used her finely honed skills as a means to both high comedy and biting social critique.”
Still not convinced to invade Tod’s exhibition? Consider this: From now until November 16, 2012 Gladstone hotel guests can enjoy 2-for-1 admission at the Gardiner Ceramic Museum.
