looking for space to exhibit during the CONTACT
Toronto Photography Festival May, 2007?
SHOW AND SELL YOUR WORK AT THE GLADSTONE!
The Gladstone Hotel is renting second floor exhibition rooms
to individuals or groups of photographers interested in showing
their work as part of a group exhibition entitled PHOTO
FICTION during CONTACT Toronto Photography Festival
2007.
PHOTO FICTION will
showcase the work of contemporary photographers whose work depicts
realities explored, imagined, manipulated or constructed. The
Gladstone Hotel is inviting innovative, cutting-edge photographers
to submit expressions of interest. We are looking for artists - both established and emerging - who
approach photography as story-tellers, inventors, and/or directors
utilizing both traditional and contemporary techniques. The exhibition
will be produced by the Gladstone inviting individuals and groups
of photographers to show their work against the historic backdrop
of our 115 year old hotel. PHOTO FICTION will
be a registered CONTACT 2007 Festival Exhibition.
Dates and Details:
- Expression of Interest DEADLINE Nov 22, 2006 Please
submit electronic expression of interest. Please include: up
to 5 jpeg images of proposed or representative work, and/or website
url, CV, and 150 word artist bio. Send entries to chrism@gladstonehotel.com
- Signed Contract and Deposit due Dec 1, 2006
- Exhibition Dates and Hours May 4-31, 2007
12-5pm daily
- Opening Reception May 4, 2007 7pm-9pm
- PHOTO FICTION will be a registered CONTACT
Festival exhibition listed in the CONTACT guide and website
- The Gladstone will be a destination venue for CONTACT 2007
visitors, drawing significant crowds along with other CONTACT
registered exhibitions taking place at the Gladstone Hotel during
the month long festival.
- Exhibition and individual participants will be promoted in
Gladstone Bag Newsletter and Gladstone website Event Listings
as well as featured on Gladstone Hotel website Exhibition Page
and Gladstone Exhibition Press Release
- Reasonable
rental rates - $1200.00 (Tax Incl.) - includes full month exhibition
space rental and CONTACT registration- no commission
on sales. Photographers may collaborate to share space and rental
costs.
- Showcase
your work in the bright, beautiful spaces and newly restored
Victorian grandeur of the Gladstone
- Individual exhibition rooms provide secure space for each artist/s.

press releases, personal invitations, and an Opening Evening
Reception hosted by the hotel.
ACCESSIBILITY - Participation costs for exhibitors
are minimal compared to more commercial events.
