Community Meeting for NUIT ROSE
A queer contemporary art event celebrating WorldPride 2014 Toronto.
WHAT: Nuit Rose is a free, queer-centred art event that could involve:
o art installations
o artist exhibitions
o art marketplace
o performance, theatre and music
o film, video and digital art
o audience participation
WHO: Nuit Rose is organized by the Throbbing Rose Collective, a Toronto-based non-profit group of independent LGBTI artists, curators and arts producers who want to create opportunities for local and international queer artists to reach the large audience expected for World Pride.
Confirmed partners (to date): The Gladstone Hotel (Nuit Rose hub), MOCCA, Artscape Youngplace, CAMH, The Drake Hotel, The Theatre Centre, The 519 Church Street Community Centre, Buddies in Bad Times Theatre, City of Toronto, Ontario Arts Council
WHEN: Saturday June 21, 2014, sundown to 3am (TBC)
WHERE: Two zones:
1. Church Wellesley Village
2. West Queen West, from Shaw St to Gladstone Avenue
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE:
· International LGBTI artists in various media
· Galleries, curators and arts organizations
· Community arts and youth organizations
· Retailers, restaurants, bars
· Business Improvement Areas and members
