What’s it all about?
Roll up your sleeves because we will be getting crafty with paints, transfer gels, papers and glue. Collage is the method of creating art by assembling materials (like papers) into a whole new product. Since there are no rules of creating collage art it will be a fun way to explore your creativity and make some really interesting pieces that we will then fashion into awesome stationery. Use this stationary for gifts, business, or personal journals!
What will we cover?
You will learn five simple techniques that will get you collaging with ease. We will start with a quick outline of popular collage materials and supplies and then dive right in. We will work on the application of 3 techniques: paper media and tearing; stamping and image transferring along with applying depth and texture with paint and washi tape. We will work on cards, envelopes and gift tags and then work on an original piece that can be used to create more personalized stationery. You will learn everything you need to know to replicate these techniques at home!
We will be getting crafty and handling paint, please wear comfortable clothing.
What you can bring to enhance your experience at this workshop:
– Your journal if you have one
– A black Sharpie marker (we will have a few to share, but if you have your own you won’t have to wait to use one)
– Papers you’d like to use in your project such as: old cards/postcards, vintage papers, magazines, pages from old books, tickets, music sheets, etc.
