Get springy with spring — and spring into some sweet music in the Gladstone’s Melody Bar! Expect intimate vibes, good times, old friends and new, and refreshingly cold drinks.
Julie Arsenault, Evan Cartwright & Ryokan will each be playing a set, starting at 8pm. Cover is $10 in advance and at the door.
Julie Arsenault is a Toronto-based singer-songwriter. Her newly released ‘Softness,’ maintains an inimitable strength, an ethereal listen that is impossible to tune out. The album offers a new depth and departure from her first full-length, while keeping her signature authenticity intact. This quiet, powerful tribute to the human spirit shows a confidence in letting her melodies and voice carry the music. Check out Julie Arsenault’s recent release of her second album ‘Softness’ here:
Evan Cartwright enhances the music of many songwriters with his thoughtful and unique percussion style – including Julie Arsenault’s. Evan will be giving a rare performance of his own songs to open the show. A special set, not to be missed.
Ryokan ~ Luke Kuplowsky otherwise known as LUKA, adapts the poetry of zen poet Ryokan for voice and guitar.
