The Don River Blues Band is the latest incarnation of a group of young and seasoned musicians, who would like to pay tribute to the Windy City by adopting the name of its main river. The band also stand behind the blues revival taking place in Canada and wishes to contribute to expand the appreciation of blues in all its forms.
The Don River Blues Band was awarded “First Runner Up” at the recent “Talent Search 2013” organized by the Toronto Blues Society. Since then the band has been performing in the city’s best rooms, playing the best “Chicago Style” blues west of the Windy City. Coming back to the Gladstone Hotel is like visiting a dear old friend, we love its audience’s vitality and the room’s lay back attitude.
The band features one of the best harmonica players in Toronto, James “the Doc” Baker; on vintage sound guitar is Pete Tate. Recently discovered Angie Panozzo, provides a soulful singing delivery, combined with great pipes. Finally, on the rhythm section, Tim O´Hara on drums and José L. Atristain bass, keep the whole band glued and on time.
