"First Instrument" Screening
First Instrument is a multi-generic collaboration between six filmmakers in the tradition of 12″ vinyl splits and films like ROGOPAG and ARIA. Featuring the works of Aisha Jamal, Katrina Lagace, Jean Marc Ah-Sen, Ulysses Castellanos, Martin Zeilinger, and Christopher Heron, First Instrument takes blind corners into the essay film, travelogue, narrative short, and avant-garde.

Our longtime fans may have spotted a brief glimpse of Matta-Clark’s Conical Intersect in the first film we showed in March 2009: Kidlat Tahimik’s Perfumed Nightmare. Tonight brings us full-circle, if you will.
