Gladstone World occurs on the 1st Friday of every month from 7pm to 10pm in the Melody Bar; the Gladstone’s free live music venue. Gladstone World features a diverse selection of world music, drawing performers and audiences from Toronto’s diverse communities. Live performances are followed by our famous karaoke which begins at 10pm.

Madagascar Slim performs a powerful blend of Malagasy tradition fused with the blues.

April 2 – Sudanese Roots featuring Ruth Mathiang
Sudanese-born Ruth Mathiang lends her remarkable voice to songs expressing hope, peace & social justice.
She mixes her favourite styles, hip hop, reggae, afrobeat & gospel, singing in Arabic & Kiswahili & other languages.

May 7 – Zimbabwean Folk featuring Tichaona Maredza Quartet
Tichaona Maredza plays acoustic guitar, drums, keyboards, mbira, marimba & percussion in a fusion of Zimbabwean contemporary rhythms & afrojazz.
He has toured North America with Oliver Mtukudzi, as opening act & guest percussionist.
