Join us on June 28 between 7-10pm for the opening reception of our 3rd annual Pride exhibition That’s So Gay. Exploring notions of queer gender identity and objectification through many diverse lenses, here’s a look at Steven Beckly whose work is featured at That’s So Gay on the 3rd and 4th floors.
Steven Beckly is a Toronto-based photographer whose works explore the complexities of identity, intimacy, and sexuality. Through portraiture and performance Beckly’s documentary and fictional hybrids trace the relationships between the individual and the collective. His works, which have been exhibited nationally and internationally, reconstruct individual realities and transform the hyper personal into something universal. By placing supposedly fictional characters in intimate and constructed environments he invites viewers to imagine alternative narratives.
