The sunshine is here and we’re excited about food. Ok, we’re excited year-round about food, but right now seems to be an especially fun time. Here’s a run down about what our kitchen and Chef Mario Paz have been up to!
Burger Week + Burger Day
Once again we participated in The Grid’s Burger Week and sold over 700 burgers! Over 60 restaurants offer up a tasty burger for $5 and we’re one of only a handful that also offer a veggie option. We also had $5 tall cans to help the burgers go down smooth. It all ended with a huge Burger celebration at Fort York where everyone served up $3 sliders + a fantastic time was had.
It was a well-deserved honour for Chef Mario to be included in this year’s Brewer’s Plate, held at the CBC Atrium. This year the Gladstone was paired up with Nickel Brook Brewing Company to celebrate local, sustainable food, craft breweries, and raise funds for the Friends of The Greenbelt Foundation.
New specials + menu items
The kitchen has been cranking out lunch + dinner specials over the last few months that guests have been loving! Here at the Gladstone you won’t get a special because it’s using up last night’s leftovers. Chef Mario creates specials because he wants to try out new dishes, because we got some interesting ingredients in, or just because he’s been inspired. Some of these specials will be appearing on our regular menus soon, so come in and see what’s new. If your old favorite has been replaced trust us, you’ll find something else you love.

Acoustic Family Brunch
With the summer coming, so comes our Acoustic Family Brunch Summer vacation. Our last brunch of the season will end with the hugely popular Queer Family Brunch on June 22nd, with special guests The Space Chums! Each Sunday before then continue to enjoy our fantastic group of bluegrass players, featuring some of the finest musicians in town.
