Artist Statement

What first strikes the visitor upon entering the Blue Line Room is the plush richness of the Chroma-Key blue (International Klein Blue) walls in the main room and the glowing depth of the fluorescent magenta in the bathroom. Clever white line silhouettes of things such as an oversized chandelier above the bed, a mounted deer head above the desk nook, a rodeo cowboy sitting on a fence to mimic the custom-made table which slides over the bed, and a woman taking a shower on the custom-made sliding pink Plexiglas panel in the bathroom haunt the room like the ghosts of visitors past. The room also features two custom-embroidered bedspreads – your choice of genders for a bedmate – and four yoga mats – your choice of bra & panties; a gun; a baby; or a sleeping dog. The visitor is welcome to create their own story, and the Chroma-Key of the walls allows the visitor to make their own digital videos in the room and edit them later using whatever backgrounds they desire. Imagine the home movies you could make in this room!? Adding to the ultra sexiness of the room are such contemporary pieces as the Periphere Uno lounge chair, the Jasper Morrison Tate desk chair, two Kartell Bourgie table lamps, the Powell & Bonnell Moderne floor lamp, and the Micro Tizio desk lamp. The room is the ultimate synthesis of contemporary graphic and furniture design.
