According to a 2001 report of the World Wide Fund for Nature, roughly 1.5 million tons of plastic are expended in the bottling of 89 billion liters of water each year. And, in addition the number of plastic bottles produced, the energy required to manufacture and transport these bottles is seriously draining our limited fossil fuel supply. Not to mention the province-sized floating plastic garbage islands in both the Pacific and Atlantic oceans.
So, naturally we’re very happy not to sell or use plastic water bottles in the hotel. And, since stopping this practice in 2007 we estimate that we’ve kept over 100,000 bottles from our landfills and oceans.
Yeah, that’s How Green!
