Gladstone Gallery: memory: linked by Woohee Lyu – Memories are not exact replicas of reality, but rather imperfect and imaginative reconstructions of the past based on present interpretations. My childhood memories have revived through external representations of nostalgia that blend the past and the present. The selected memories appear to be misty, unclear, and distorted once mapped into wax blocks. Woohee Lyu majored in both Interior Design at Kookmin University in Seoul and Graphic Design at OCAD University in Toronto. Her main interest is to explore the frontier between art and design. In her current work, she investigates the relationship between memory and place by externalizing her nostalgia using architectural mnemonics.
