An all night extravaganza of art exhibitions and entertainment produced by the Gladstone Hotel in celebration of Scotia Bank Nuit Blanche.

As an official Nuit Blanche Partner the Gladstone Hotel will present over 100 artists and performers in two floors of the hotel.

Local artists, musicians, community and student groups present live music, performances, film screenings, art exhibitions, installations, and receptions from dusk until dawn in the hotel's Melody Bar, Art Bar, and 2nd Floor Exhibitions Spaces.

 


ENTERTAINMENT

MELODY BAR: FREE!

5pm-6:30pm Laura Hubert

8pm-9pm seewhysound - multi-instrumental, freestyle groove

11pm-4am Karaoke - Kick Ass Karaoke with host Peter Styles Extended bar hours to 4am.

BALLROOM: $5 before 11pm $7 after 11pm

10pm - 4am Foxhole - White Trash Sexy Singles Dance and Big Gay Mixer Extended bar hours to 4am.

OUTDOOR PERFORMANCES: FREE

7pm-8pm Samba Elˆ©gua - Samba / Freestyle / Big Beat- hotel parking lot and sidewalk

9pm-10pm The Backstabbers - bloody ballads, crooked fiddle breakdowns, and a mess of country tunes from the 50s and 60s - hotel balcony

10pm-11pm Samba El'gua  - more of Toronto's sexiest samba ... con fusion"- hotel parking lot and sidewalk


EATS

5pm-10pm EAT! 5pm - 4am DRINK! Enjoy a beer and a burger or late night munchies in the Melody Bar while you tap your foot to live music programmed from 7pm. Extended bar hours to 4am.

6am Brunch - it's the best way to end your night (or start your day!)
Tuck into an early brunch while you wait for the sunrise accompanied by our mellow musical vibes.

SECOND FLOOR

 fly - by- night:  brief moments and fleeting experiences in ephemeral environments - This exhibition will showcase temporary installations in the hotel-s second floor exhibition rooms. Artists will create ephemeral environments for visitors to experience. Curated by Chris Mitchell  Participating Artists: Adina Stanescu, Florencia Caligiuri, Schaiffer Haitsma & Gil Calderon, Ruth Spitzer & Sarah Dorkenwald, Libby Hague, Dragos Gorun & Cher MacNeill,  Simon Fleming, Mark Schilling and Effie Patelos, Rob Southcott, and Henry Benvenuti  

House? Or Home? - A visual dialogue between minimal housing and the desire for Home (my rooming house or your mansion?) presented in the Gladstone-s second floor reception gallery by Parkdale Arts and Recreation Centre.

2 Brilliant - Lighting Installation by artist Bruno Billio on the 2nd Floor/Exterior

ART BAR

Ryerson University at the Gladstone Hotel: Installations and screenings of both the year's best contemporary art and short films created by Ryerson University's full time and continuing education image arts students.

FRAGMENT/FIGMENT A site-specific, animated pixel within the active facade of the hotel's Art Bar. This collaborative piece will use the division of the window/split photographs/video to explore contradictions. Photography and video installation Backyard Design: Jenny Francis and Yesim Tosuner.
