We are so excited to collaborate with Toronto International Film Festival‘s Future Projections on not one, but two amazing installations.
Future Projections fuses cinema’s moving image with the gallery’s visual arts for a provocative city-wide programme at the 37th Toronto International Film Festival.
In the Art Bar, Liang Yue’s The Quiet Room projects a dramatic profile of Canadian winter through both image and sound.
While on the 2nd Floor, artist Ming Wong presents his version of Chinatown, titled Making Chinatown. With himself cast in each role, this installation has received lots of press both locally from sources like the Toronto Star and even internationally from the likes of the New York Times.
Projected onto photographically altered sets reminiscent of studio lots, Wong’s Making Chinatown is a funny, occasionally shocking installation addresses race, gender and sexuality while deconstructing cinema conventions and their ability to shape identity.
Project your love for Future Projections soon because Sept 16th is your last chance!
