Jode Roberts is a painter, beekeeper and schemer. He is a tireless advocate for monarch butterflies and runs the David Suzuki Foundation’s Homegrown National Park Project. Amy Rogers is a multimedia artist based in Toronto. Her mixed media work is thoughtful, concept-driven, and often labour-intensive.
Got Milkweed? Monarch butterfly populations have dropped from one billion to less than 50 million in the past two decades, and have an uncertain future. The Got Milkweed exhibit will evoke both a sense of wonder and a sense of the dramatic loss the species has faced, while suggesting playful symbolic strategies for species renewal.
Gladstone Hotel is pleased to announce the 3rd annual Gladstone Grow Op, a five day exhibition celebrating innovative ideas and conceptual responses to landscape, gardens, art and place making under the theme: culture of landscape. Grow Op 2015 will facilitate a cross-disciplinary forum across a broad range of creative practices within the vibrant setting of Toronto’s West Queen West neighbourhood. Grow Op, as one of the most intriguing annual exhibitions in Toronto, encourages a wide range of perspectives and dialogues around landscape and place; challenging our understanding of nature and the built environment around us. #GROWOP2015
