Noa Knows: this is not a Dreamland
Although Canada Day is in the past, this week Noa Bronstein looks to the Textile Museum of Canada’s exhibition Dreamland: Textiles and the Canadian Landscape and knows that you should go see it!
Running May 23, 2012 – Sep 30, 2012, the Dreamland exhibition integrates landmark Canadian artifacts from the Museum’s permanent collections with the work of contemporary Canadian artists to create a dialogue of personal and cultural expressions across time and space.
Celebrating the imagination of landscape and the human presence in and around it, Dreamland: Textiles and the Canadian Landscape introduces a seamless play of storytelling, whimsy, utility and materiality, speaking to a continuity of patterns and practices that locate the past in the present – and the present in the past.
Featuring work by artists like Douglas Coupland and Michael Snow, Noa Knows–you’ll be having nightmares if you miss this one.
