November 16 - 21, 2007 | 12-5pm Daily | 2nd Fl The Mood Disorders Association of Ontario (MDAO) has launched a unique program designed to celebrate the creativity, importance and impact of artists who live with mood disorders. Entitled, ’ÄúTouched By Fire,’Äù this special showcase of art will welcome participants of all experience levels, from the professional creator to those who have never displayed their art before. It will feature paintings, drawings, and photography. "Creativity has long been associated with depression, and bipolar disorder," says Karen Liberman, Executive Director of MDAO. "But sometimes, a person's talent can be hidden under the weight of their illness. ’ÄòTouched By Fire' will provide a great new opportunity for artists with mood disorders ’Äì and we believe the public will be knocked out by the skill that will be displayed." The on-line gallery, with a full range of art not displayed at the Gladstone due to space limitations, will be available for viewing beginning approximately at the same time. |
