upArt at the Gladstone Hotel
Thursday October 25 to Sunday October 28, 2012 – Coincides with Toronto International Art Fair
CALL FOR PROPOSALS
The Gladstone Hotel is seeking innovative makers and thinkers to participate in our fourth annual contemporary art fair. Using the historic hotel as a platform for experimentation, upArt brings together local, national and international artists, curators, collectives, and galleries, to transform the space with site-specific installations and previously unseen work.
As the hotel’s annual art fair, upArt is an important showcase for contemporary art, situated in Toronto’s art & design district, and presents an open and fertile ground for alternative and emerging practices seeking exhibition opportunities. upArt offers its participants exposure to a diverse audience, including the local arts community, general public, as well as international visitors.
upArt is open to all types of contemporary art, including sculpture and installation, painting, photography, drawing, performance, new media, film, fibre, ceramics, etc., and aspires to be an exhibition that introduces new practices and approaches to art- and exhibition-making.
upArt 2012 is curated by Noa Bronstein and Deborah Wang.
Deadline for Proposals: Friday, June 29, 2012 by 11:00pm
