As Queen Westers with an affinity for supporting local Toronto artists, cool design and everything else art-related, it seemed only natural to team up with the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) and the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) to curate a dreamy Art in the City room package.

Cynthia Lee from Toronto is whom I consider a dream artist. Her paintings reflect her life, emotions and spirit. Many of her works are figurative, inspired by nature depicting water, sky, wind, earth and fire.
I would have to say that I love the work of ELICSER who is a street artist in Toronto who is influenced by Mexican painter Frida Kahlo. ELICSER blends conceptual, “high art” portraiture techniques with graffiti-writing aesthetics and brings beautiful colors and character to parts of the city that might otherwise go unnoticed.
I love Rob Gonsalves beautiful, surreal paintings. Imagination blends into realism. http://huckleberryfineart.com/Rob-Gonsalves-prints/

Wow, to wake up in a room full of Joey DAMMIT’s work would be like sleeping with the stars – all the famous rockers and filmstars from back in the day that Joey uses in his pieces and the colors – it would really feel like you were on a trip – that would be so inspiring. Any piece he does is very current and relevant no matter what the day/decade – i absolutely love his style. But to meet this man Joey would be the ultimate to me. Ahhh, sleep with the starts
Jeremy Jansen is my favourite toronto artist
My dream Toronto artist is Andy Warhol. It’s a dream, right? So I’m picking a dead guy. Also, how cool would Warhol-inspired room be in the hotel? What [living] Toronto artist could tackle this, incorporate their own style, and do it well? I’m not sure, but I’m sure they exist!
also, yes i am aware that warhol was not from toronto

fav artist is that guy who does photos from history photos with old backgrounds and updates
My dream Toronto artist wraps the CN tower in hot pink plastic every night while you’re asleep. Have you seen her secret underpass murals? Every thick brushstroke keeps the Gardiner from collapsing for at least one more day. The artist is a master of disguises – you might know him as a curator of artisanal paperclips or maybe as an albino squirrel.
Her 4-year performance art piece, “Red-faced Mayor”, has made headlines internationally and will conclude in 2014. Here’s a little-known fact: there is no actual smog in Toronto. That yellow-grey haze is a wash of raw umber he paints on the sky to make the sunsets more intense. All the waterfront condos and everyone in them are part of her ongoing installation entitled “If you lived [here] you’d be home now.” (But don’t tell them. They don’t know it yet.)
My dream Toronto artist is JessGo. Her Andy Warhol-inspired artwork reflects her vibrant, edgy, hip, and exciting personality. Plus she’s quite pleasant and throws amazing art shows! A real gem in the Toronto art scene. The cover photo on my Twitter page is one of her paintings.
My favourite Toronto artist would have to be comic book artist Bryan Lee O’Malley. His comic books have stuck with me a lot, since they’re about youth growing up in Toronto and it just feels like he’s drawing me and my friends.
Thanks to everyone who entered our ArtDream contest here on the blog and on Twitter and let us know their favourite Toronto artists.
The contest is now closed and we are happy to announce that @sueedworthy is the big winner of a night stay in a Classic Room + dinner for 2.
