Join us every Wednesday in our Cafe for a unique Harvest Wednesdays Prix Fixe inspired by produce and ingredients from neighbouring farms and prepared by Executive Chef Brandi Greenwood! Menus will be announced every Wednesday morning using farmer’s harvest from that week. Let the taste of Ontario produce blow your mind!

What is Harvest Wednesday?

Harvest Wednesday began in 2006 as an opportunity to connect urbanites with rural producers and create a dialogue that helped shape the community around Toronto’s artisan food scene. By showcasing local produce at each event alongside community organizations and local producers, Harvest Wednesdays sparks conversations about Community Shared Agriculture, and the global impact of choosing to eat locally while enjoying seasonal Ontario produce, picked from the land just the day before!

Harvest Wednesday menus are inspired by the specific weekly “harvest” of a local Community Shared Agriculture (CSA) as the core produce. Our Executive Chef Brandi Greenwood will be working with farmers and producers throughout the season.

What is Community Shared Agriculture (C.S.A.)?

C.S.A. farmers grow food for a predetermined group of consumers who pay an annual fee to purchase their ‘share’ of the harvest. It is a relationship of shared bounty and shared risks. Community Shared Agriculture is a concept that allows people to reclaim a connection to the production of food. It allows farmers to be supported locally and for people to eat food grown in their area, not shipped across the continent.Since 2006 C.S.A. farms have grown from 600 to 13,000 in North America!

Enriched through Partnerships:

The Gladstone highlights and features the work of local food and drink partners at each Harvest Wednesday dinner. This year we will be putting an emphasis on producers from 100km Foods. Harvest Wednesdays draws on partnerships with local producers big and small to provide guests with the chance to experience local wines, meats, cheeses, and specialty foods as well as access to information about food advocacy groups, community partners and local musicians.

Our menus will be announced on our website and social media every Wednesday morning.
