Want to throw a music, art or fundraising event at the Gladstone?
As part of a B-Corporation commitment to social engagement and responsibility, The Gladstone Hotel works with community partners and artists on a host of cultural events, from Pride parties to trivia nights. If you have a proposal for a cultural-events partnership, please out our partnership request form.
We are extremely excited to announce our second MIT6 comedy night. The feedback for our first event could not have been more positive and we cannot wait to showcase some more amazing mixed-race comedic talent.
Just like last time, there will be snacks by Haan Palcu-Chang and a DJ to keep the party going after the comedy sets!
Please order your tickets ASAP. We will have an early-bird special for the first week of ticket sales. You don’t want to be one of the people that couldn’t get tickets last year!
Here is some more information on our talent:
Jen Sakato is an up-and-coming comic from Toronto. She regularly performs at the Underground Comedy Club, the Corner Comedy Club and Absolute Comedy and has performed across Canada, Asia and at the San Diego Comedy Festival. Her commentary on being mixed race, dating and modern life makes her an easy crowd favourite.
Aisha Brown is a Toronto based stand-up comedian who performed her 3rd televised taping for the Just for Laughs festival in Montreal this summer, and has written for the Beaverton and Baroness Von Sketch. Also, sometimes she raps….but as a joke.
Gavin Stephens is a stand-up comedian and #blerd who skillfully balances playful irony and morbid silliness; he is known for his (really) quick wit and steam of consciousness comedic style.
Gavin has been featured in Montreal’s Just for Laughs and Austin’s SXSW, alongside comedy legends Margaret Cho, Janeane Garofalo, Andy Kindler, Reggie Watts, Hannibal Buress and Marc Maron. He has been named one of the “10 funniest Canadians” by StarTV and choses as “Best Local Stand-up Comic” in NOW Magazine’s Readers Choice poll.
