Galerie Youn Presents Jay Dart, Dear Human and Christine Kim
Join us on the 4th floor (12-5pm daily) to see works presented by Galerie Youn, as part of the extended run of the Gladstone’s Come Up To My Room exhibition (Jan 21-24). These works will be on display until March 14th!
ABOUT | Galerie Youn focuses on building bridges between local, national and international emerging to mid-career contemporary artists. It is located in the dynamic and creative Mile End district of Montréal. Director Juno Youn, originally from South Korea, is a graduate of OCAD who previously ran SPIN Gallery in Toronto, 1999–2007.
Montreal-based DEAR HUMAN was founded by Jasna Sokolovic and Noel O’Connell in 2011. The studio works in various domains that include public space projects, product design and the applied arts. The collaboration is rooted in their common interests in craft traditions, sustainable making, and unconventional material (re)use.
JAY DART recently begun creating installation pieces based on his two-dimensional narrative works, the most recent of which can be seen in his recent book Wanderer of Yawnder from Galerie Youn. He received a BA from the University of Guelph’s Fine Art programme. Jay lives and draws in Ashburn, Ontario.
CHRISTINE KIM is a Toronto-based artist who works primarily in illustration and cut paper collage, such as the paper dodecahedrons exhibited at CUTMR. Her work explores issues of boundaries. Through her artwork she speaks to a sense of being uprooted, displaced, circling around borderlines both permeable and permanent.
