Ryerson Artspace | Meagan Christou’s ‘Lamentations’

“By the sweat of your brow
you will eat your food
until you return to the ground,
since from it you were taken;
for dust you are
and to dust you will return.”
Genesis 3:19

Artist Meagan Christou has pursued the cycle of birth and death, and searched for the space in-between. In her installation Lamentations using 16mm film, ice, ashes and bones, Christou asks us to take a leap of faith and join her in experiencing a revelation.
